Liposuction Surgery Abroad - Lipo Abroad

It’s official; liposuction is the most popular cosmetic procedure on both sides of the Atlantic. This culture of celebrity and ‘perfect’ bodies is pushing more and more of us under the knife in attempt to look leaner, fitter and more attractive.

Liposuction is so popular because it does the job which no amount of exercise could do and now people all over the world are catching onto this idea as a way to look fabulous without forking out large amounts of money. Liposuction is now even less invasive than it was in earlier days as new laser lipo has burst onto the scene; this is the use of a concentrated laser beam to break up stubborn pockets of fat which are then absorbed into the body harmlessly.

Whilst the procedure is fairly cheap over here, more and more people are travelling abroad in search of better offers and such offers are indeed out there for shoppers savvy enough to seek them out.  Because Liposuction is a fairly straightforward procedure, whether in its old form or in laser form, it is a good candidate for surgery-tourism as you won’t be too debilitated after going under the knife (or the laserbeam) and will also look much better in that new bikini or Speedo you treated yourself to!

No amount of exercise or dieting or hard work can shift the stubborn pockets of fat which often build up on our thighs or love handles; they simply sit there as an unwanted reminder of a time in our lives when we were bigger or less healthy than we wished we should have been. Liposuction offers the opportunity to rid ourselves of this past and is really the only way we can do so; it’s either liposuction or hiding away under layers of baggy clothes for the rest of our lives and, especially in the summer months, I know which one most people would rather choose.

Traditional liposuction sucks out the fat from the stubborn areas and gives a much more toned and slim-line look to the body. It is a relatively fast procedure, with recovery times nowhere near those of larger weight loss procedures such as tummy tuck or gastric operations and thus you should be able to fly home quite soon after your procedure; the site of the lipo may well be uncomfortable for quite some time, however, and so you probably shouldn’t expect to be going all Baywatch on the Beach a couple of days after you’ve had the procedure.

Whilst there are a plethora of professionals who would be willing to do the procedure for you here in the U.K, it would likely set you back around £3000 (actual prices will vary on the size of the area you are having the procedure on and your own unique aims for the surgery). With prices such as these, and the economic situation as bad as it is at the moment, it can be prudent to shop around; it is a small word, and there are some small prices and large savings to be had.

In Belgium or France you could save around £2000 or £1000 respectively and you won’t be too far away from home either; with the cheap European flights which are currently flooding the market this could be a great way to save money but, if you fancy going somewhere more exotic, because you have a wanderlust which just can’t be tamed, then there are other options which are available to fix your craving for exotic locations.

The procedure is known to be very cheap in Brazil, a place of stunning scenery and beautiful people, and you pay as little as £600 for the procedure over there (you still have to pay for the flights though remember). If that’s just a little too far away for you then Lithuania and Hungary will also be able to offer you companies who will do the procedure for less than £1000. You will have to do your own research to determine whether these countries will have made the technological advances in cosmetic surgery sufficiently enough to be able to offer laser lipo or the other state-of-the-art techniques which are now being used.

Older techniques still carry with them longer recovery times and thus, if it’s a case of having to be back at work as soon as possible, it may well be prudent to pay a little more and go with the laser-lipo or another newer technique.  You shouldn’t be afraid to ask how the procedure will be performed and how the company intends to look after you after the operation has been performed. Asking questions is a vital part of going under the knife and thus the language barrier is something which also needs to be considered; if your doctor doesn’t have a good grasp of English do you have a good enough grasp of his language in order to communicate how you are feeling? If the answer to this question is no then you most likely need to reconsider whether surgery abroad is for you.

There are normally very few complications with liposuction procedures, hence the fact they are so popular, but you should still ensure that the company you decide to go with offers regular checkups back in the U.K to make sure things are progressing well. They should also tell you the very important information about lifestyle changes after liposuction; it is not the easy way out. It isn’t a permanent solution to excess weight unless, after the procedure, you change your attitude to diet and to exercising. The surgery is only the starting point; where in the world you desire this starting point to be is entirely up to you.

With recovery times decreasing all the time and new discoveries happening regularly it may be worth paying a little bit more to get the latest expertise. Go on, treat yourself, you deserve it, and it’s better to pay a little more now than regret not paying enough later on.
